FAQ

What is a "Community Partner"?
A community partner is a member of the community who is willing to serve as a friend and mentor to a fellow community member with a physical or developmental disability.

How do I become involved in the project?
Potential community partners will complete an application. Applicants are then interviewed to determine similar likes and interests that they may have with a person with a disability. The program coordinator will determine a potential "match" and then schedule and facilitate the initial meeting.

How much time is involved?
Community partners are asked to make a commitment for at least a one-year period. Partners are requested to maintain contact at least twice a month by phone and be involved once per month in a scheduled activity. Such activities may include shopping, going to a movie, dinner, travel, recreational events, or just visiting.
